Post Fixed Odds Betting

I have never had a 'fixed odds' bet and was not too sure how exactly it works so could someone tell me if this is right or wrong;

(how I think it works)
The odds of the horse/dog you bet on are the odds you'll get no matter what
On 'all in' you can only bet win and place
If your horse/dog you betted on is scratched for whatever reason you do not get refunded

Thnaks :

My favourite form of betting. If your happy with the odds on offer, jump on. Plenty of times I have a bet on the gallops some horses in the first 3 in the market can be $1.40 - $1.78 the place. LOVE 'EM!!!!

Thanks. Yes I was thinking about jumping on one in the Perth Cup now. The favs are around 7s or 8s which I didnt think was bad. Does anyone have a tip or can anyone suggest any value in the Perth Cup?

I see what you mean Neverpromise, there are some nice place odds for the first few there arent there? So for example if I thought that Ballack was going to win this saturday at Flemington to impress his trainer and ensure that he goes over to Perth I should get on him now correct?

Minimum is $1, just like normal tipping although once you select your runner you get the price at that point in time, doesn't fluctuate.

Are you sure? Because the minimum for tomorrows racing is $3, so wouldnt that have a similar sort of rule?
