I don't punt that much but one of my mates waits til the last minute or so and whatever odds drops the most he makes a bet on.
Another freind only bets on names that have womens names or have something feminine about them.
I bet on the second favourite.

I tend to go by form... but more specifically i really look at track/distance and times at the track!

Also i actually put a fair bit of thought into the boxes the dogs have too...if they are in the middle and are slow starters i tend not to get on them (unless its a 600m + race)

Form work is always essential to pick a winner, i like to see its previous start and where it has been racing.

Form is a major guideline especially on group races, but if you really know your racing you may sometimes notice that a horse is crying out for a particular distance and often they seem to feature when run 1st up over this distance

Form, class, race times & sectional times. Gotta love a track specialist as well. I also like to review a lot of race footage to pick the good runs not always seen the first time around.
