Four time Blue Diamond winning jockey Dwayne Dunn has linked with with Hall Of Fame trianer Lee Freedman as the new stable jockey.
Dunn yesterday signed a three year contract that will begin at the start of the new racing season on August 1 replacing Corey Brown who left the Freedman operation in March after an 18-month association.
The agreement is believed to be a lucrative seven figure retainer for the three years along with incentives and options.
"I have been actively reviewing my options in the last few months to find the right man for the job." Freedman said on his website.
"I made it clear from the outset that it is not just a case of turning up on a Saturday and riding my horses well Dwayne will be fully involved in the trackwork and the education of the horses coming through.
“We also agreed that his role will stretch beyond the role of work rider and jockey to provide a service and interaction with our valued owners."
"This agreement gives stability and creates confidence within both camps and enables us to concentrate on what we do best, which is train and ride winning horses," Dunn told the Daily Telegraph.
"I look forward to becoming involved with Lee and his team and learning from one of the best in the business."
Dunn has been the number two rider for David Hayes, behind Craig Williams, since he returned from Hong Kong with his major wins including 2006 Caulfield Cup and Metropolitan on Tawqeet as well as the last four consecutive Blue Diamonds.
