Husband and Wife Team Banned
Friday, 1 May 2009
Racing NSW stewards have suspended a Kembla Grange-based training team over an elevated TC02 level.
Trainer Diane Poidevin-Laine and her husband Karl Poidevin have been suspended for five months over an illegal bicarb reading returned by AJC Australian Oaks runner Celtic Courage at Randwick on April 18.
Celtic Courage finished ninth behind Daffodil in the classic but has been disqualified from the race.
A stewards’ inquiry heard the husband and wife team had been warned several times about elevated TC02 levels.
Their suspension will end on September 30.
