Default Sydney Cup Day

Well another interesting days racing. I thought at $11 Divine Rebel was the value in the Cup. Call me old fashioned but in form mares just keep winning. She gets in with bottom weight after winning the Chairmans (best lead up race to this race and last year No Wine No Song won the Chairmans and the cup.) She had the last crack at them and won it fair and square in my opinion, nothing else really couldnt get out or was overly unlucky. Were getting what I call Barts unders about Dandaad at $9.50 - I reckon about $12 is more his price, but Barts a genuis never underestimate him - obviously the TAB hasnt lol. So yeah I just think no reason not to back Divine Rebel. Also form around here really looks strong (including the previous win over Prima Nova.) Master O will be thereabouts dont leave him out of your tri's just coz of the weight. Could have ran a place in the Melb Cup and I think he's teriffic E/W odds.

Will post on other races in the day later in the week. Cheers.

Here are my thoughts on Sydney Cup day.

SR3 – I am a big fan of Amberino, she hits the line very hard and will be flashing home (if the track isn’t too wet)
SR4 – Tickets seemed to die on his run last start and will be fitter for this and should get the cash
SR5 – Whobegotyou was unlucky in the Donny and gets his chance to win here
SR6 – Mr Tipsy ran on well last start under WFA conditions and looks better suited here, I also think Divine Rebel is in this up to her ears
SR7 – All Silent, Solo Flyer and Hot Danish will all appreciate the drop back to 1400m here and I will be working around them (probably Solo Flyer eachway if it isn't too wet)
SR8 – Koichi looks a nice eachway chance in this field

Good luck to all having a bet this weekend.

My Tips:

Race 1: Ortensia seems to be the class runner in this field, should be too good for them.

Race 2: Joe Blow Again is the class running thought he had a decent run last start didnt handle the ground and i thought the distance was too far. This race should suit and i think he will win it convincingly.

Race 3: Portillo one of the harder races to predict although i think Portillo has been running a bit better than the rest and drops in grade. Should win this one.

Race 4: Tickets thought he was unlucky last race Blowmen rode him very poor, he gets the ride again only he can prevent him winning.

Race 5: Roman Emporer (even though V&P is one of favs at the moment) i think Jim Cassidy jumping off vision and power and onto this colt says it all.

Race 6: Fiumicino ran an excellent first up at the start of the month, shows he has the class and looks like the distance will suit. Drops some weight and should be very close at the finish.

Race 7: Racing To Win suited this race and finally he races against a field with similar weights, tough race to pick although i think he may just grab it from All Silent.

Race 8: Zedi Knight should continue its winning streak pretty poor race, not a great field.

Cassidy jumped off coz hes thinking cups. If its slow (which is looking likely) no reason not to back VAP. I reckon VAP, Sousa and Whobe - one of them is the winner.

Fiumicino seems to be a new horse since being run on-pace, loves it wet, I think he'll run top 2 or run like shit.

Zedi Knight I think only question is the Sydney going and the travel. Looks solid but its been a pretty long prep for the youngster youd think now hes as vulnerable as ever. Having said that I wont be betting against him but if you think hes a good lay then you could well be right.

Well DR you wont hear no complaints from me. Tried her best and just beaten by a better horse on the day, or perhaps just a better two miler. E/W, if I had win maybe I would be complaining lol.
