Default Blue Diamond Stakes Tip?

Hey guys. Wanted to know what you all thought about this highly anticipated race. If ever there was going to be a 'dual' between two guns you'd reckon it would be in this race wouldnt you? Real Saga and Rostova, bookies can't split em, and it seems punters can't either. You'd be stupid to think though that a David Hayes horse or whatever Dunn rides wont run a big race.

The previews havent been a great formline over the past few years although they have both won very impressively. Rostova for me Think the 2.5kg might just be the difference.

Hussler, my immediate thought is also ROSTOVA but will review much later in the week particularly when barriers are announced. I have been to only one Blue Diamond and that was the one won by Lady Jakeo with Greg Hall on top (early 1990s??). I do remember GH riding a familiar aggressive race pushing her through a narrow gap at the top of the straight. I think she had brown and yellow colours, maybe a white cap. I wonder if any other Forum members were there that day? I think she was probably the only winner I backed all day.

Think she might have won it in 93 but don't hold me to that.

Hussler, you are right about Lady Jakeo and 1993 being her Blue Diamond year. I think you better ask the 2009 Blue Diamond question again later in the week especially after the barriers are announced.

Quick Blush really stands out as the roughie in this race for mine at this stage.

Yes I think at around $10 for the win and $2.80 for the place Come Hither is a great e-w prospect. If Rostova or Real Saga (more so Rostova however) was to win this by about 2 lengths you'd have to say that the horse's future would be boundless.

Default Radio Tip

Heard wayne Hawkes on his charge Real Saga for tomorrows B/Daimond.When questioned he said if it was a 2 horse race with ROSTOVO he would clearly give it to his horse. To his credit he highlighted ROSTOVA as being GOOD and the draw gives it the edge and Oliver would have to be at his very best to give REAL SAGA a shot ..........and that the race positions will probably determine the winner.

BUT Ive never heard any of the HAWKES Family talk with so much confidence in the past which I think is a very good lead...as they are usually very subdued in there comments on any of there horses.

A Good Colt always beats a Good Filly but ROSTOVA looks good. But i think I will go the Big race trainer and Jock to carry the Day.

Cheers
