Default Lightning stakes

Of course I am not "Robinson Cruso" in this regard but I am looking forward to next Saturday's Lightning Stakes and the clash of the "Hussler" and the "Cat". The "Cat" was disappointing when first up at Flemington in the Spring but hopefully the stable has it sorted out this time. I am a fan of both horses but have the feeling that we have seen the best of the "Cat" (not that there is anything wrong with maintaining that very high standard) but feel and hope that "Hussler" has even more to offer than he has already shown. I hope "Hussler" does prove to be a "world beater" in races from "1000 to 1600". Who knows, something else might knock them off but I hope not.

Wfa race and you wouldnt want it any other way. As long as the Hussler handles the heat (which is forcast to be 40C in Melb on Sat) he will win. If my cricket match is cancelled due to the heat I'll be heading straight to the track. Also just letting people know that all patrons attending Lighting Stakes day recieve a free big 6 bet.

Yes Hussler, I had forgotten about the heat probably continuing through until Saturday. Unfortunate. They will certainly be putting a bit of water on to the track. I have fond memories of the Lightning and rate it highly. Good to see two great horses continuing and even enhancing the tradition.
