JOCKEY Jason Holder is in a serious but stable condition in a Brisbane hospital suffering head injuries following a fall at Eagle Farm.
Holder, a five-time winner of the Adelaide jockeys' premiership, celebrated his biggest race victory aboard Phelan Ready in last Saturday's $2 million Magic Millions Classic at the Gold Coast.
He was knocked unconscious momentarily on Wednesday and was treated on the track for an injury to the back of his head after he was thrown to the ground heavily in the straight when his mount Oscar The Great fell in the Te Rapa Handicap.
Holder was badly concussed and had to be restrained while being treated on the track.
He was transported to Royal Brisbane Hospital.
Holder's family arrived at the hospital about 7pm (AEST) Wednesday night but requested that no further information on his condition be provided at this stage, a hospital spokeswoman said.
