This was one of the racing greyhounds in the NGF this week -
READY TO RACE
Gorgeous Speed
(elgrando x my shot)
*Gobis
*fawn bitch feb'06 28kgs
*14 - 3 - 1 - 1
*Won W'Bool 25.74 ( 6.47 - 12.39)
*Won W'bool 19.35 (6.68)
*Won Bendigo 24.70 (12.86)
*price $3,500

I havn't checked the latest form on this bitch so can't really comment. I'm not really up on the Warnambool times. The Bendigo time is ok. Overall IMO a few lengths off a good dog. Plus is the age Feb'06 whelping, minus is wins to starts & price, due to most trainers are on, 50/50 prizemoney split. So this greyhound would have to make $7K to beak even. Make a good NSW short course sprinter.

Warrnambool:
Its time is 25.74 over 450m
Average win times are : 25.85 (M), 25.63 (G5), 25.49 (G4)

Its time is 19.35 over 332m
Average win times are : 19.53 (M), 19.36 (G5), 19.25 (G4)

Bendigo:
Its time is 24.70 over 430m
Average win times are : 24.61 (M), 24.48 (G5), 24.37 (G4)

My Thoughts:
Cant run anything past 400m, would struggle to win a G5 at Bendigo and Warny over 450 but could be okay around 300m racing in lower grade races but also suggest 2 options of Traralgon and Cranbourne would be out as competition too hot. Might win a short course at say Horsham or Healesville.

Not one Id consider IMHO.

I think times would vary more than 5 lengths from maiden to 4th grade racing. Wasn't hinting on buying that one. just posting what's available at what price. Hawk greyhounds are like buses there's another one around the corner. It's important to do some homework and not rush into the 1st one that comes along.
