Hey jim.

Can you give us a few more details such as prices and types of meat you sell?

Thanks

What are the transport costs on average?

Purchasing for a retired racer, prices are a lot cheaper than that of stores in my area.

Morgan, if you are only purchasing for one dog, it's actually cheaper buying local. Where do you buy your food for your dog from? If local shops, it would be too expensive. You would find it cheaper going to a petfood store (not the pet shop, which is very expensive).

Bulk lots are mainly for commerical farms or someone with a lot of dogs. I'd be interested if the racing meat was good quality?

I get my best beef for $2 a kg which is delivered from melbourne to my local township at no charge as I usually buy in bulk.

cheers

Racing meat is very lean and of good quality. If i wont feed it to my dogs it is not worth selling. Prices for transport are usually by the pallet 900-950 kg.
regards jim

One thing that worries me about the cheap bulk meats for dogs is that they smell a little odd; not 'off' but I wonder about the amount of preservatives there are? Wouldn't additives like this affect the dog's performance?

preservative will affect a dogs performance yes, but there are tests to verify the presence of preservative in meat if you are worried, beef lasts better than most meats unpreserved however, its not to say it isnt used by some though.
