Pago Pago - Let's Get Educated
When the champion two year old Pago Pago from Perth arrived in Sydney for the Golden Slipper in 1963 Sydneysiders were strongly educated that the correct pronunciation was Pango Pango. Somewhere along the line, hillbilly racecallers have lazily persisted calling the name as Paygo Paygo (pay cheque gone)? The correct pronuncitation sounds much better. Come on, everyone let's get it right.
