I actually didn't state that one was "faster" than other my statement was that here in Hobart Damek would beat him, for all the reasons I stated before uphill run home Damek is consistently strong, EGS has massive amounts of early speed where he would most likely lead Damek to the home turn, but after that Damek would run away from him, it's endurance nothing else

Yes EGS gets a little tired after 450m but when you are in front by 12-15L then it doesn't really matter!!! Remember he has still run 29.40 odd @ Sandown!!!!!!!
Kyleigh, honestly mate if I gave you the choice of a dog who has three track records in Tassie and 50k in prizemoney or one that has earnt so far over $400,000 with a melb cup and a topgun title who would you choose??? Now put aside where they are from and the rest of the bullshit!!! There is NO comparison between the two at the moment, Nick is 100% correct, Damek is virtually solo trialing every race start whilst EGS is running against the cream of racing dogs in Australia and as you can see from his last start he can also do it the hard way. He would SMASH your sectional records at Hobart and yes would most probably get a little tired up the straight but IMO he would be that far out in front he would hang on!! Ms Jones will pick her targets very carefully with EGS and yes whilst I would love to see him come over to Tas and settle this little tiff for us I'm sure he won't as there is some big races on the horizon on the mainland. Lets just hope that Damek comes over for them and we can see what he is really capable of. I've never said that Vic has the best dogs in the land and we are the be all and end all of Greyhound racing in Australia, but I am afraid that Tassie is a long long way off the mark at the moment!!! Your prizemoney is snot, your authorities are a joke!! S.A will be on the up soon as they lured Matt Corby over from Sandown and I'm sure he will get them back on track given time!! You lot in Tassie need to stop feeling sorry for yourself and being so defensive and start thinking outside the square, get on with the job! You need another Chinatown Lad or his sister to plunder some Vic or Sydney $$$ instead of it being the other way around all the time. |

[There is a dog called GARDAM PRINCE that hails from down south in Mexico and Darren Mac trains him. 12 months ago ppl where putting shit on this dog for winning all his races in the bush and not on the city tracks. mr Macdonald knew what he was doing with this dog and placed him where he could win. There were a few big races that came up and Mr Mac chose the ones that the dog had the best chance of winning. he wasn't worried about all these group one races, he just plodded along winning plenty of others without stressing the dog. The dog now has an incredible winning record to his name and he has won over 250K. Not bad for a dog that has won only a couple of group one races.
The point is why do everyone bag a dog or it's trainer for not putting his/her dog against dogs that could be better only to ruin either one of those dogs spirits by beating it. A great trainer will always try and place his dog where he/she thinks it can win] exactly coops |
