Default Man Handle

there no place in our sport for some one to man handle another person at a race track as i beleive happen at launceston on monday night. the stweards should have suspened the the person involve , if miss hill been incharge there would have been a suspendision. we as trainers come to the tracks to race our dogs an enjoy being at the track not to be man handle. so stewards stamp this behaveir out by a heavey suspention. as one day someone will get hurt badley. an staewards dont be gutless on this matter.

The whole game is falling apart. People's livelihood are being affected, and the people who have the "power to change" things dont give a damn. As a result we will continue to look an absolute laughing stock to those on the mainland. Its a crying shame for those who actually love the industry.

what can i say ..... the tasmanian dogs have gone to the pack!!!!!

did hear a little bit about an altercation..... rumour is it started between two blokes after competing in a heat of the Nationals, interesting point is that both the dogs were going to be swabbed so if this is the case where were the stewards when they were returning from the track to the kennels or do they not maintain the security of greyhounds being sampled!! The position of a Steward is to "take responsibility and ownership of the industry" and to provide the industry with "direction".... seems to me like tempers are boiling over and starting to spilll out onto the track as there is a distinct "lack of ownership and the ability to take control".

Nothing mentioned in the Stewards report once again...... they must have a BIG BROOM or a great BIG HOLE IN THE SAND to bury their heads in!!!

correction - on good authority it would appear that there has been rivalry between two trainers/attendants which came to a head after one of the heats

I know for a fact that a trainer was about to put a winner back in the kennels after washing it down etc. when a "Steward" appeared and said they wanted to swab it all of the sudden!!!! Thats the first the trainer knew of it, no escort off the track!, no observing the dog being washed or having a drink etc apparently it was "too cold out there"!!!!!!!!!!!WTF!!!!!

Its funny you say that Gippy .... apparently its too cold for them to stand outside on a Thursday night to observe the races instead opting for the warmth of the grandstand with a limited view ...... and we must wonder how did they miss the native hen some weeks ago not to mention the numerous amount of offending greyhounds that have gone by without the blink of an eyelid !!!!

Thats because the eyelids are closed!! Cant remember the last time the "chief" was on track level interacting with the industry participants.

Good point Gemstone.

As Hobart and Cranbourne are similar in grandstand/track placement i must ask the stewards at cranbourne why they "dont" stand in the grandstand but instead opt to be out in the cold in the home straight of the greys track.
