Default Syndicate - Global Trading 1000

Hi all,

I am new to this forum but wanted to know if anyone had heard of/been contacted by a group called Global Trading 1000. Global Trading 1000

I was cold called the other day. By the sounds of it they run a horse racing syndicate, managing the bets for you based on their 'tips'. Website is full of marketing jumbo, costs $6600 for a years membership and they claim to have been returning about 40% per month.

Has anyone had any experience with this kind of thing? Is it legit or not?

Cheers,
Chris

Ha ha this is quite interesting, I was thinking of starting a 'punters club' through my new dog website, but my outlay will be nothing like this and will all be transparent, I would be very wary. I am investigatng the legal side of it at the moment, will let you know my findings.

Hi Chris,
I'm new here too, I just joined to reply to your post.

I too have been getting calls from Global Trading 1000 for a number of months now. They just keep calling back with more flexible offers, all of which I have declined. In the original calls last year, they were not very forthcoming with information about their company. I would ask questions regarding the names of the main people behind it and what it was called prior to March last year, but the answers I got when I kept pushing them were that it was a matter before the courts and therefore they could not give me that information and I didn't really need to know it. I can tell you this did not exactly give me a warm and cosy feeling of confidence in them.

My main sticking point with them is that I keep telling them that I would not pay out thousands of dollars to them without first being able to see their system running in real time as bets were placed etc so that I could verfiy their results. They have consistently refused to do this. They just point me to their last years results page of their website, with assurances that it would be illegal for them to publish results that weren't true. They have also offered the most lame reasons as to why I can't see it running first before paying thousands of dollars.

I can't help but feel that if the system was as good as they say it is then they would have no problem letting me see it operating for a 'free trial' period of some kind, after which i would be really eager to join up. But until that happens I will keep my scepticism and my money.

Save your money. Not that I would like to see people lose their money, but if you sign up to this, then you deserve to lose.

I received a cold call a couple of weeks ago saying they would send me an email. No problem, I would look at it. They called me back today, and I told them I did have a look but I was not interested. The salesperson was persistent and would not take no for an answer. Eventually I told them that I thought it was crap and I would not waste my money. The sales person called me an idiot and hung up on me.

I rang to complain to a "manager" who just saw it as another opportunity to try and tell me how good the system was and I shouldn't pass up the opportunity. When I told him that I wasn't interested in the system but complaining about how unprofessional the sales person was, apparently I was talking over him. I did get an apology but I think that's just part of the marketing. That was after he tried to justify the sales person calling me an idiot, because I "attacked them first" by telling them I thought there system was crap.

Steer clear of this, like the saying goes, if it sounds too good to be true, then it (probably) is.

PS Next time I get one of these shonky companies trying to rob me, no more Mr Nice Guy, I am going to tell them where to stick it right from the beginning, and make it as colorful as possible.

Exclamation license?

hi guys i'm new here, i dont normally post on forums but i'm a financial advisor and my clients often ask about horse racing programs, personally i've never delt with the company in question but one thing i can assure you all is they don't hold an Australian Financial Services License(AFSL) this simply means they do not fall under any governing body which means they can publish any figures they want on sites or in brochures without them being true. they will tell you that they are registered with ASIC but anyone who holds an ABN is registered with ASIC, if anyone reading this holds an ABN can you remember the last time you had a compliance meeting with ASIC? never? There is a BIG difference between being registered with, and governed by ASIC. long story short - they can say and do whatever they want and if and when they get caught ripping people off they are simply shut down, leaving them free to open up somewhere else under a different name doing the same thing. Don't give your money to a company without an AFSL regardless how good it sounds or how good the salesman is.
best of luck on the track
