Default Grading

Can anyone tell me how the grading of a dog works when you send it interstate! ie. A Dog that has won at Hobart being sent to Sth Oz, does that mean it is no longer alligable for a G5 at a country track? I know that sending a Vic dog to Tassie that has won a G5 in the country means you are automatically G4 at Devenport!! Just wondering if there are any guidelines available to read up on each states Rules relating to this?

Gippy, yes I think our syndicator members should at least be able to shed some light on this subject, that is, based on their experience. I will be very interested to learn what one or more of them might have to say. I did try to investigate this matter for you but did not come up with anything of substance. In fact, I have just got off the phone to a very prominent Victorian media/greyhound administrator person who, although certainly wanting to help, was not able to assist with substantive advice. For what it's worth, he is emailing me the just released new grading policy in NSW (another one).

Gippy, of course there must be an answer of some sort to all of this. To be honest I do not have sufficient direct involvement in the industry to have acquires the knowledge, nor do I have the motivation/enthusiasm to vigorously pursue the matter as much as I would like to. The media/administrator person I spoke to suggested that each state has its own rules and decides how it treats dogs from other states. This is what I think he meant anyway. However, the 'syndicator' guys and others on the Forum must have practical experience of dealing with these matters and therefore should be able to advise you even if it is, for want of a better word, only anecdotal advice. The media/admin guy has sent me the new NSW grading guidelines but I have not yet opened the email (been away for a few days). Good luck I will be interested when you received some substantive responses from other Forum members.
