Stayers as stud dogs

I have just noticed that Bundy has sold his Texas Gold pup. Good on you Bundy, I hope everyone is happy now and even more importantly in the future. Please forgive me if I have previously raised this subject (I probably have) but do any of the greyhound enthusiast members have any views on staying dogs as stud dog material. I don't think I would be wrong in saying that there has for many decades been a general prejudice against staying dogs as stud dog material, however, maybe there is good reason for this, I am not convinced one way or the other. What do you think? Are there any staying dogs that you can remember that have become successful stud dogs. However, we all know that if a dog does not get the quantity and quality of bitches then he has little chance of proving himself. I remember not all that many years ago, Sam Cauchi (I think) wanting to prove that via Restless Stan, he could prove that a stayer could be a very good stud dog. I don't think poor old "Stan" got much of a chance to show his prowess as a lover and also as a producer of fine stock. Shanew is likely to have some views on this subject, particularly in view of his wonderful dog, Chinatown Lad who not that long ago had his first litter born. This is a question that has interested me for many decades but to which I have still not come up with an answer. Understandably, I am sure that Shanew thinks that Chinatown Lad can produce quality pups if given the chance as would Warren Harper with Miagi and I expect that Donnie Hazzard might hope to put Sky Hazzard over a few bitches. Let us know your views.

stayer would never make it over here in eneral becase of both our distances 300-500yards been the most used ones
little over that really so staying dogs have little use as most tracks will one or two distance races a month at best and even fewer sweeps for them from 575 up
