Bombastic Shiraz is the best sire in the country at the present for mine and not because we have a litter by him 3 months old. He is getting winners everywhere at all levels! Nitro Burst (Vic Peters Final) Smart Betsy (Wenty Mega maiden), Phil's Mate Geelong track record, Cindeen Shelby YSC final at Wenty, Super stayers Sky Hazard and Flashing Floods (2007 Australian GOTY), Bye Bye Bones, Bit Chili, Snozz, Velocette and the list goes on.

Solid mentions to Where's Pedro and Elite State for mine

Bombastic Shiraz Im weary about, lately he has been getting progeny (i know they all do but his are in bigger numbers and more noticeable) who are fighters.

However, he can and will throw an amazing pup.

My favorite sires at the moment would be Over Flo and Surf Lorian.

Hello Bundy, re Bombastic Shiraz you say "...LATELY he has been getting progeny who are fighters". He has been around quite some time now and therefore it is what his progeny have done over the whole of that time. Let me tell you, your observations would be a lot more reliable than my own but I am a bit concerned by the reference to LATELY. It might be that you have noticed this LATELY but I can't see why Bombastic Shiraz's progeny would all of a sudden be more prone to becoming fighters. I don't think you mean this but that's how it reads from my perspective. Sorry if I am being pedantic. And "yes" I do, through personal interest, have a small "soft spot" for Bombastic Shiraz but I do emphasise, "small", I don't care all that much. I can't claim to have any favourite sire but one thing is for sure, I don't like the progency to be TOO MAD. My long-time observation is, that's when you are more likely to get fighters. I like them to be keen but importantly, also sensible .

Not sure where that comment comes from but I'll say this a very astute breeder told me BDC has the biggest number of fighters on the ground and had 5 in one week get a ticket just 2 weeks ago all in one week....As fro BS I have no connection to the dog but wonder where the fighters are???

what do people think paddys flame stud future is going to be like. i ilke him because he was such a hard chaser.

TheChook 01-11-2009 09:46 PM

IMO a lot of bitches could do with some outcross. Paddy has outcross and a sensational damline. Top it off, he was damn fast!

Cant see why he wont make it providing he gets the bitches.

Morgan 01-12-2009 10:17 AM

Yep, i agree paddies flame IMO has all the qualities of a stud dog although i dont think he gets many bitches thus no one can really tell how good his pups are.
