Good luck coops!
|
Thanks Morgan.
This is by far the toughest field he's been up against. All I want is for him to finish and walk from the catching pen unhurt. coops |
Good Luck Tonight Coops. Im going out to Richmond Dogs today. cheers Dougie :)

Thanks Dougie mate. All my dog life of 40 years I've dreamed of having a greyhound race at Wentworth Park. Just to even walk a greyhound on this hallowed track to the boxes knowing that my dog is gonna jump out of these boxes for all the world to see gives me goose bumps.
It might sound stupid to people who have raced there, but I don't care. It's my dog and where ever he finishes is I'll be very happy. coops |
Well fellow members, Me and me dog have been there and done that. It was an experiance me and me dog won't forget, especially me dog who seriously buggered his back leg when he jumped from the boxes. (He finished 7th.) and thats the worsed he has ever finished.
The vet this morning gave him a big chance on recovering from the injury. I also kissed it to help it heal quickly. He will return. coops |

Coops, I have been away for a short while chasing the misses up and down the beach trying to get her back to her "racing weight". Just noticed that your dog had its first WP run but hurt himself. I am sorry that this has happened but hope the recovery does not take too long and most importantly, that it is very successful.
|
Yutha mate, the dog will return to the track better than ever. I sat up all night talking to the dog and we both have come to an agreement that we will both try harder next time.
It's funny that you mentioned the missus mate coz the other day me and me mate Paul were avin a chat about wifes. He asked me if I ever talk to the missus while having sex. I said "Yes, but only if she rings." coops |

Hey Vad mate, you know when you take your orse to be kennelled and get weighed on the day of the race and your orse weighs a bit heavier than it's last start, do the stewards get up ya?
Also mate, do other people talk to ya when your waiting to be kennelled? I was standing in line waiting to be weighed and kennelled and no one said boo. You could here a pin drop. There was this old bloke sitting on a bench with a book and pen, just sitting there. When I got near him he asked me what me dogs name was. I told him his name "SINKA THE DRINKA."and he laughed. Then he asked the other bloke behind me his dogs name. He told him and said thanks. Bloody nerve laughing at my dog. I wonder who he was? Anyway, I put me dog on the scales and one of the weigh blokes yelled out his weight and a steward called me over and told me that the dog was 1kg more than his last start. "Whats the story." he asked. He's been hot and I gave him a drink and he'll piss it out before he races." "Are you appy with this weight?" he asked. "Yep" i said. "Ok, but watch his weight." That was the only time anyone spoke to me during kennelling time. Now it's his race time. Get the dog from the kennel, take dog outside for a leak, go back inside and put race rug on, still no one said anything to anyone. Take dog on track for big parade for all world to see. Go onto track, heard announcer say my dogs name, nearly fainted, get to boxes, box man says stand behind boxes, put dog in boxes and told him to get bunny. Boxes open, dogs come out, announcer says my dogs name again, me feel proud, dog finishes 7th and me still proud. I congradulated winners trainer and he asked me who I was. I said "Coops" he laughed. Whats with all this laughing and silent bit Vad? coops |
Coops, I will keep this as short as is possible and not only because I have to go and cook tea (those thoroughbred industry people call it dinner) for the misses. Chicken and vege stir fry tonight, a little garlic and soya sauce but no onion as my wife can suffer from the condition that you sometimes experience especially when your wife wants to be deep and meaningful. It sounds like serious business, maybe the WP stewards consistently frown upon social interaction within the WP kennelling area and these people have been previously chastised for being too friendly. Maybe it is one of those city vis-a-vis country things. Possibly one or more of them are 'upemselves'. Maybe they need you to tell them about Stanley and Jimmy (was that the goat's name).
|
Stanley the orse and Jimmy the goat.
I think the people who race their dogs at Wenty are quiet because they are all tense. I must admitt that I was. To race a dog at one of the Premier tracks in the country is the reason everyone is quiet. I think their only concern is their dog and hoping they perform to the standards of greatness and they do, (well some do.) I admire all those greyhound trainer who get their dogs to those standards. Maybe one day I can say that about myself. As for the stewards, they are trying to do their best for all concerned. I must admitt they do speak to you nicely. They are there to enforce the rules and as trainers we must abide by those rules and thats fair enough. coops |
Hey, what about Kamikaze Spirit winning at Bulli last night. Good dog that one. Chook must be very happy.
Yutha mate, I had this call from a shiela I met at Richmond dogs a couple of weeks ago. She said come on over there is no one home. So I went over and she was right, there was no one home. coops |
Well guys, Sinka had his first race since February at Goulburn yesterday. He finished 4th beaten by 5 lths in 26.06 over the 457mtrs.
I was pleased with his run as he was 3rd about 2 lths of the lead on the home turn and then weakened to run 4th. The run will do him good and his fitness will inprove. coops |
nice one coops im sure he will come on great for the run
