Asian Racing???

I don't follow the Asain races (Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan) but always just coming across results etc. I thought that for whatever reason there are way more big odds winners in the Asian racing than there are here and even every where else in the world, or is it just me?! Looking through the most recent (Sunday night) results on the HKG, SGP and JPN meets my belief just basically became confirmed.

The only reason I could think of why this might be is because maybe our totes are inaccurate as the people who install them don't know their horses as well as they know ours and maybe even their different style of racing is not well understood or something...

That is what leads me to the question; can anyone explain?

Hey Hussler,

Not quite sure why there are more bigger odd runners in the race perhaps its due to low pools so if someone has made a big bet on one horse that they like then the rest of the field goes out.

Although i agree i see a lot of $10+ winners in overseas races compared to Australia, maybe its due to more competitive races?

Could be the pools maybe yeah, although you'd reckon in terms of the tote that it would be pretty similar to theirs and they know their horses/racing as well as we would know ours. I'm still puzzled though....

Could also be that they usually have larger numbers of horses in the races.

Another big one - Japan cup winner 16-1 second place getter $7.50 place dividend. My tip to anyone who is planning on having a few dollars on a race in Asia is to just have a ping at a dart board or something, you can forget the form anyway.

Yep it is pretty much down to luck in Asian races, its good for big priced winners though.
