No Clue

Being a novice to horse racing im hoping someone might be able to explain something for me. Going through saturdays form i see that there are a few different kinds of races. I generally get the jist of handicapped races. But i what i want to know is whats the difference between weight for age races, set weights races and set weights with penalties.

Hey Troy,

Weight for age: weights adjusted only according to age.

Set Weights: where all horses carry the same weight.

Set Weights with penalties: all horses carry the same weight although some horses receive extra weights for winning certain races etc.

Not that big on these sorts of things but i think they are correct and hope it helps.
