does any one no where u can get some dog runs in vic? ? ?

and where u can buy lures and walking mac... ?? ? ? ?

i would like new stuff but if u no any where with sec hand it would be a help too......

For the runs what type/size are you looking at. Many people have different meaning for dog runs, so it can be quite confusing sometimes. Ive hear both calling them runs for dog kennels with say a 1-2m run outside of it, and which my meaning would be, would mean buying fencing to build a long run for them to run up and down in.

Also what type of lure, a drag lure? Or teaser type? or?

Not to discourage you or anything, Madlee, but I hope you will think carefully before getting a greyhound to look after, it's not as easy as just getting a handler's licence and a dog run and lure. Those are the last things you will need, first, you will need to learn all about greyhounds, the rules of the governing body, and most importantly, learn from experienced people how to handle and care for a greyhound, as it's not like caring for a pet dog.
Let's take it easy for the first year or so, just be patient and don't go rushing out to buy your first greyhound to bring home ;-)

You've mentioned that you've never had anything to do with greyhounds before, so that's why I urge you to put a hold on your enthusiasm ;-) otherwise it could blow up in your face and the greyhound will be the one that will be hurt in the process ;-)

Why would you need a lure in the first place as well? Most new people starting out in the game, just need to get a good leather lead/collar, a good kennel, the right fitting muzzle, and a good pair of walking shoes to start with ;-)

Hope you will think carefully about getting a greyhound, however it will be good if you place the greyhound with a trainer/or rearer and let them do the job for you, that way, you can still visit your greyhound and learn all about them by listening to the trainer/rearer and asking questions.

I would totally agree with this, for your first dog have it reared by someone close to you and make regular visits to the dog you will learn heaps in the process and your dog will still get the best care and preparation.
