Greyhound Bedding

Hi Guys,

I was wondering what other trainers use for their dogs bedding.... Mine keep chewing their mats to shreds, and aren't keen on the hessian style beds on 4 posts. I was thinking of a gym style mat, that is foam and has the vinyl/leather cover to it, but I don't know if they would chew that too. Any tips would be appreciated! Thanks!

Yeah they have blankets too but they like to eat them as well haha... and they have concrete floor in their kennel and my husband wants them to have a mattress or something but they eat it. I fear he will just move our bed into the kennel soon instead and I'll have to deal with just the couch ha ha...

what you need is discipline

newspaper across the head and then put the muzzle on all night, no need for a fancy muzzle a stock standard race muzzle or american muzzle will do

2moro try again with no muzzle

if they chew then repeat newspaper across the head and muzzle on

sooner or later they will learn

dogs like to play whos boss, you have to show them your the boss

too true nick, in every pack there is an alpha male, but one thing I am unsure of is the 'they have concret floors in their kennels, umm do they have NO beds, do they have a raised sleeping area at all? I would def muzzle them for night but if they are sleeping on blankets on concret floors I can kinda understand why they are pissed off

Thanks guys! They seem to have just stopped themselves...I think the new mattresses were a novelty and they aren't chewing them anymore, I havent had to replace the mattress with a non-edible one. One dog was a maiden and won his first race on Tuesday, and its quite amazing how both their attitude has changed since then? And they aren't chewing their beds, bonus!
