Here in Portugal horse meat is very expensive and rare. So I am giving beef.
I am giving morning ration of high quality (Eukanuba Performace) evening I mass with oats and soybeans and 200g of meat.

Albeit several decades ago, my experience with feeding horse meat in Australia was not a good experience. The horse meat turned out to be poor quality. In fact, problems e.g. salmonella, caused by me feeding horse meat still trouble me today, bad memories. Unless, I was very confident about the sourcing, processing, handling and transport of the horse meat, I would not use horse meat in Australia. However, I suppose I need to be just as confident about any beef that I used. Sorry, Ricardo, I tend to think that you have become secondary with regard to this topic, in that, it has turned into a debate rather than advising you. You're the one in Portugal, just make sure whatever you get is of good quality, that is, safe. And as for Byron Bet advising you to use "a pound" without qualifying with additional advice about supplementing it with the use of chicken, well "please.......".

I use horse meat sometimes, but only when one of the trotters don't measure up to my liking. One of them is quite nervous at the moment.

coops
