do you no what procaine is and how it gets in the system? its not a bacteria it wouldnt matter if the cow walked on hot coals, drowned, bunge jumped etc etc court action will get you no where at all, the seller is the middle man he buys it from a knackery, he has no way himself of knowing what it contains unless he slaughters his own meat. as for shitting through the eye of a needle, have you never had a dog with diarhea?? there is always a chance you will get an off batch of meat, dosnt mean it contains anything of worry, its just a bad batch of meat, simple. so youd take court action if you dog has diareha from meat?? hmmmm hope i never race agaisnt you, might end up in court if my dog checks yours |

well as long as these knackeries on the mainland keep putting all sorts of meat and preservatives through the people using this meat will find that their dogs get the shits and trainers will get pinged for presenting dogs not free of drugs except for the money side why would they process carcasses that have been dead for days and mix it with some good stuff well it should be enforced there as in tassy any animal that dies is not allowed to leave the property it must be buried or burnt and the penalties are quite severe and if enforced in all states it may lessen the occurrence of positives from meat but then again some of these swabs are not in the meat but administerd by trainers and blamed on the meat cheers chub.

i dont think its a nation wide thing re disposal of dead livestock/horses but it should be and i dont know the witholding period for procaine but if you ring sandown clinic they have a book on witholding periods etc and ive no doubt procaine would be in the book cheers chub.

well, I buy my meat from a slaughter yard, so we generally know what is in it, plus we also get calls for cows horses etc that have gone down, which we will collect slaughter and bleed ourselves, but the meat goes to our puppies never anywhere near our race dogs, simply because in a last ditch effort farmers will give cows a massive shot of penicillin (procain) just to see if it can get threw it, same as in milk, milking cows are given penicillian every 5 weeks just to make sure they have no infections, so if you buy milk from a dairy you should always ask when they are given their shots, it is easy to be caught out if you arent careful

yes cheyene thats spot on but most people in greyhounds cant afford to ask questions or buy good meat for their dogs most just buy reasonably priced knackery meat ????? and whatever goes with it and then roll the dice will it be me with the next positive swab cheers chub
