Chief Steward Needs Appointing
Tasmania has been without a Chief Steward for six months. This state needs one as soon as possible. We require someone who can actually read a race .Obviously no suitable person applied for the job.Maybe the powers that be are playing politics again PLB.
|
Who is running the show at the moment?? Who is the bloke who came over from from W.A?? We are talking Greyhounds arn't we??
|
The person you are refering to is originally from tas .had abad expierience with a motor bike on a pacing track in W.A I believe PLB
|
A.S.A.P.......Enough is enough it has gone on for long enough,Tas Greyhound Racing is quickly becoming the laughing stock of the Greyhound Industry....
|
and so say a lot of people cheers chub.:D

Whats the problem?? Isn't there anyone capable in Tas to take on the job or you referred to "politics" as a problem, are you able to elaborate on that at all? I suppose with such a small racing community you may need an outsider who comes in with no "mates" in the industry to shake things up!! |
dont need m8's what we want in tasmania is someone who can see dogs marring and ftc and when a dog gets almost knocked over at the start of a race
its absolute bulldust what these "STEWARDS"?????? are letting dogs get away with while they sit on there arses and do sweet f all .and the time when none of them seen that bird run across the track well that just showed the rest of australia what DICKHEADS we have in charge of greyhound racing and the racing minister is sitting on his bum doing sweet f all as well except takling his pay for doing nothing WHAT A JOKE no wonder people are getting out or moving out of tasmania to race interstate :o |
Rumour has it that RST had Some applications for the position but obviously none of them suited the job.No interviews have occured to my knowledge.A couple of Stewards have resigned since applications closed I am lead to believe to take up jobs elsewhere.Could there be internal problems ? PLB
|
paul
since amanda wasnt reappointed and the job was advertised in may the reason that they cant interview anyone i believe is CONFLICT OF INTEREST and again nothing has been done about it but tas racing couldnt care less apparently otherwise stewards wouldnt be leaving and we would have a CHIEF STEWARD but who knows me may get one by christmas ill have to go i just saw the tooth fairy cheers chub.:D:D |
It doesn't take a brilliant person to annalize a race does it??? Shit I could tell you if a dog hasn't chased or has stumbled out of the boxes etc!!!! Obviously the Racing minister has to step in and take control of the situation, surely its not that hard???

Doesn't Micky Stringer train a dog for the Racing Minister?

lol.....Careful Chub... i don't wanna see you get a severe reprimand again from the so called powers to be...lol...but i thinks you may be correct on the rumour mill....!!!
|
Interesting responses.I doubt that any person would be allowed to race any thing in this state without being a registered person. The rule book is very specific. The person at the top is very stong on integrity and probity.I doubt he would let anything like special treatment happen.PLB
|
well i think chub was right in what he said about the STEWARDS:confused:they couldnt see a hole in a ladder and thats not all they cant see ive looked and i cant see where they put the seeing eye dog and the white cane lol :p

Forgive me if I'm a little slow on the uptake, but what is the significance of this??
|
Gippy More seem to be leaving than staying.Local paper has a response today .Inteviews for twostewards on Friday 26 applicants.Greyhound Chief Steward Interviews two or threeweeks away maybe.Interesting article says amanda hill has reapplied?Probably the best qualified maybe too directPLB.
|
well paul after 7 months its not before time they had INTERVIEWS for CHIEF STEWARD here in tasmania i certainly hope someone is appointed before xmas cheers chub.:D
|
as long as they appoint someone who can actually read a race and give a proper report.
|
spot on Penny its not to much to ask for....its not Rocket science..!!!
|
seems now that the stewards in hobart are doing the veterinary checks on dogs before kenneling after the vet was considerably late at the hobart meeting held last night
can a steward authorise another steward to do veterinary tests on dogs to compete on race night ?????? hmmmm very interesting that one cheers chub. |
After opening the kennels 15min'a late to start with chub,we then never had a vet.... an one known Steward decided to do the vet check himself, which was more like patting the dogs at a show than a vet check, then proceded to tell us that the dogs will be checked by a vet properly when we get them out ready for to race, which also didn't happen.......what a hoot last night was..!!!
|
well can anyone tell me about the rumour that at the NWGRC a fortnight ago that a certain trainers dog was to be swabbed after locking the dog away and then getting it out the ladle was apparently contaminated so then the specimen container/s had powder or something similar in or on them and other specimen seals were opened and couldnt be used so then they decided to do a mouth swab and proceeded to drop all the mouth swabs and so couldnt use them if this RUMOUR is true the circus is getting worse cheers chub.

chub post an part of rumour nwgrc prevented a dog from having a swab. box1 writes 200% correct chub no rumour mate its facts . well if this is fact there should be federal police investergation in to nsw racing offocials..from the top to the bottom. and sacking should be on the agenda.

which doesnt surprise me one little bit the sooner they get a NEW CHIEF STEWARD the better there wasnt this much trouble with the last two chief stewards so who employs these latest stuff up stewards god do some good for the whole greyhound industry and employ someone who can do the right thing jesus is it that hard ?. |
What happened to Amanda Hill?? She was a very good steward when she was in Victoria always tough but one of the fairest, was a shame to lose her. Rumours ran rife over here about her but I doubt she was doing anything they said..... she was not that kind of person!
|
All interesting comments.Did a greyhound pass away in the kennel block at Devonport a couple of weeks ago .Was mentioned in stewards report I think.Does rule say an autopsy should be performed?I have been waiting for the results. to be published.PLB
|
well paul its apparently at the discretion of stewards but i would have thought a dog dying after racing even if it looked as though it was a heart attack
( thats what the on course vet said )it would have given the owner, trainer and racing people an answer and stopped rumours circulating about it cheers chub. |
well here in victoria they wouldnt have hesitated to do an autopsy to allay any fears anyone had and to show they had INTEGRITY something it appears TASMANIAN STEWARDS are severley lacking in.

RACE 10 – HANKOOK TYRES GRADE 5- 452 METRES
Elusive Lomar was slow out. Royal Debree checked off the heels of Power Broker approaching the home turn. Dilston Dubai severely checked off the heels of Royal Debree on the home turn. A post race veterinary examination of Dr. Ralf revealed that no apparent injury could be detected. A post race veterinary examination of Dilston Dubai revealed that the greyhound was injured with a spike wound to its right wrist and mild thumps and has been stood down from racing for a period of 2 days at all tracks. Stewards issued a warning on the racing manners of Dr. Ralf over the concluding stages of the event for the manner in which it tired. LMFAO "the manner in which it tired" !!!!!! it didnt tire in an appropriate manner??? |
and another........
Reg’s Big Girl, Pearl’s Snow and Rebel Patch bumped soon after the start. Reg’s Big Girl crossed to the rails approaching the first turn and galloped on the heels of Hero Hunter, severely checking Hero Hunter which faltered As a result Beijing Bond, All Shot, Strong Magic and Pearl’s Snow were checked. Rebel Patch raced wide in the home straight. Hero Hunter was examined by the club’s Veterinary Surgeon and it was reported that this greyhound had right shoulder muscle soreness and the greyhound has been stood down from racing for a period of 10 days. Stewards found Hero Hunter guilty under GAR 69(5) for failing to pursue the lure with due commitment by reason of injury, in that Hero Hunter pulled up in the home straight. Hero Hunter must complete a Steward’s satisfactory trial before any future nominations will be accepted. RUN ON: 1 4 7 6 5 3 8 2 by my calculations 8 dogs finished the race!!!! So did it pull up or tail off ???? MARGINS: ˝ HD x 2 TIME: 26.62 |

Amanda's contract expired in January 2010 and there was no offer for it to be renewed, however, the option was there for her to reapply for the position. The interesting thing is other Stewards were offererd a further 5 years including the Steward who is acting in the position! |
sorry penny i got the wrong state so at the nwgrc there was alledge that there was white power that stop a swab from been taken isnt that a security breech or a form of race fixing.

RACE 7 – Shaw Contracting Illingworth Classic – Heat 5 515M Scrub O’Malley was very slow out. Fisherman, Hotline Patch and Regent Diamond collided soon after the start. Blofeld checked off the heels of Sting approaching the first turn. Fisherman, Hotline Patch and Hilton Sage collided on the first turn. Fisherman and Hilton Sage collided approaching the second turn checking both greyhounds. Fisherman, Hotline Patch, Hilton Sage and Scrub O’Malley collided on the home turn checking Hotline Patch and Hilton Sage. Scrub O’Malley collapsed approaching the catching pen and died. The Club’s Veterinary Surgeon, Dr Stephen King reported that the he was of the opinion that Scrub O’Malley had suffered from a pulmonary rupture, Dr King performed an autopsy on course and collected various samples from the greyhound for further analysis. Stewards interviewed Mr M Stringer to establish if there had been any unusual incidents or circumstances that may assist the stewards with their investigation in this matter. |
