GALAXY TO NEVER SURRENDER

NEVER Surrender gave owners Andrew Graham and his partner Tilaine Palmer their biggest success in greyhound racing when he led throughout to win the Tweed Galaxy (420m) today.

The son of Go Wild Teddy-Precious Angel scored by two and a quarter lengths in 23.58 churning through the rain. He downed the fast finishing Brad Rail with four and three-quarter lengths to Anarchy in third.

It was also the first Galaxy victory for premier trainer Tony Brett and only the second starter he has had in the series.

Never Surrender has been a problem dog for his connections with niggling injuries restricting him to just 21 starts. But he had already won the Grafton Maiden in his nine wins and seven placings. Graham bought Never Surrender for $2000 as a three-month-old pup.

"It's awesome, the biggest thrill," said Tilaine. Andrew admitted the Tweed Galaxy was the one race he had always wanted to win from the time he was old enough as a nine-year-old to come greyhound racing.

Never Surrender will now head towards the Gold Coast Cup at the end of July.
