RACE 8 PAGES EVENT HIRE SYDNEY CUP FINAL – NON GRADE – 720m
INCIDENTS BEWARE (2) and BLUE LORIAN (8) were slow to begin. NANA COOK (5)
checked BOOT STRINGS (3) crossing to the rails soon after the start causing
BOOT STRINGS (3) to lose ground. ALTARIO (1) and HOCKEY FAN (6) collided
at the first turn causing ALTARIO (1) to lose ground hampering BEWARE (2).
HOCKEY FAN (6) hampered BLUE LORIAN (8) approaching the turn in to the
home straight on the first occasion. HOCKEY FAN (6), BOOT STRINGS (3) and
BLUE LORIAN (8) in the back straight causing BOOT STRINGS (3) to lose
ground sharply.
A Veterinary examination of BOOT STRINGS (3) revealed No Injury.
Stewards interviewed the connections of BOOT STRINGS (3) regarding the
greyhounds performance this evening. After viewing the video replay connections
informed Stewards that the greyhound was heavily checked in the back straight
by HOCKEY FAN (6) and appeared to give ground thereafter. Connections added
that despite the Veterinary Surgeon not being able to find any abnormalities with
the greyhound tonight he thought the greyhound appeared to be amiss in its
actions after the incident with HOCKEY FAN (6). After considerations Stewards
decided to take no further action other than to request connections to advise
Stewards of any injuries that may appear in the coming days.
