QUEEN HEADS TO WENTY
Compliments GRAQ website
THE Queen Lauryn show heads to Wentworth Park on Saturday night as a lead-up to the bitch's Group 2 Ladies Bracelet campaign.
Queen Lauryn, beaten just once in her career, has drawn box seven in a 4th Grade (520m). Owner Steve Hawkins reports the Token Prince-Cheeky Sprite bitch has done well since her brilliant Albion Park win last Thursday night. "I think that was one of her best wins," said Hawkins. "To overcome her early trouble and still break 30 seconds ... it was a huge effort."
Hawkins said he was happy his bitch had drawn wide for Saturday night's run. "I think she is suited out there. She ran 30.22 when running down Tricode Flojo in the semi-final of the Vic Peters last year and came from the eight box then," he said.
Hawkins describes the Group 1 Vic Peters as "the race that got away". Queen Lauryn had to be scratched from the final when she came on season in the week leading up to the final.
The Group 2 Ladies Bracelet heats will be run at Wentworth Park on Saturday week.
