Race 6 SOLO MELBOURNE CUP CONSOLATION FINAL

Gripen Bale and Dawbilows Heaven were slow out. Flash Of Light and Phoenix Night collided soon after the start anf several times approaching the first turn. Bora Bale checked off Cindeen Shelby approaching the first turn. Bora Bale and Gripen Bale collided approaching the first turn. Flash Of Light and Phoenix Night collided on the first turn checking Phoenix Night. Dawbilows Heraven faltered entering the back straight and tailed off as a result. Gripen Bale and Birthday Bou collided approaching the home turn and again entering the home straight.

Dawbilows Heaven was vetted following the Event and Dr Steve Karamatic, the Club's Veterinary Surgeon, reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right metatarsal. Acting on a recommendation from Dr. Karamatic, the Stewards will stand Dawbilows Heaven down from competing for 30 days.

A swab sample was taken from Cindeen Shelby, the winner of the Event.

Remo Rubik stumbled at box rise and was slow to begin. Dyna Lachlan and Lord Ducal collided approaching the first turn. Prankster galloped on Mr Moorooduc approaching the first turn checking Take The Kitty, Prankster and Mr. Moorooduc. Remo Rubik brushed the running rail on the first turn. Turanza Bale checked off Octare on the first turn and fell as a result. Dyna Lachlan checked off Lord Ducal approaching the second turn. Take The Kitty and Remo Rubik collided approaching the second turn and again entering the back straight. Remo Rubik checked off Take The Kitty on the third turn. Take The Kitty and Octare collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn.

Take The Kitty was vetted following the Event and Dr. Steve Karamatic, the Club's Veterinary Surgeon, reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right shoulder, left triangle muscle and right hind leg. Acting on a recommendation from Dr. Karamatic, the Stewards will stand Take The Kitty down from competing for 7 days. Stewards spoke to Trainer, Mr. K. Cheetham, regarding the performance of Take The Kitty approaching the home turn and again on the home turn. Mr. Cheetham told the Stewards that on pulling up, the muzzle on Take The Kitty was found to be wedged. Stewards took no further action.

Turanza Bale was also vetted following the Event and Dr. Karamatic reported that the greyhound sustained soreness to the lower back and grazing to the head. Acting on a recommendation from Dr. Karamatic, the Stewards will stand Turanza Bale down from competing for 3 days.

Swab samples were taken from the placegetters - Lord Ducal (1st), Dyna Lachlan (2nd) and Mr. Moorooduc (3rd).
