A good trainer will not really care what the dog has done to date! They will get the dog into their kennels, clean them up, get them checked and start from scratch. Your friend is better to pay the $ up front for a 6 week pre-train with a decent trainer and let them decide whether the dog has it or not! There are too many variables before hand,Is the dog sound? What is it being fed? What distance has it been trialling? etc
You only set yourself up for the fall if you say that this dog or that dog is going to be city class or has so much ability, I know in order to get someone to just take a dog sometimes you have to stretch the truth a little, but its better to hold on to your credability and not look like a goose if the dog dosn't live up to expectations!
Good luck I hope it turns out a flying machine!!!
