I missed Vintage Octane's race but of course another win to him. Maybe he will follow a not too dissimilar path to the one taken by Mantra Lad, another Pure Octane dog. However, I do think that Mantra Lad has a bit more natural ability but I think Mantra has some problems including cramping and he is not all that flash from an inside draw. Gunnadoo Magic appears to have run another great race tonight. She is going so well and good luck to Robert Britton who I am told by people whose opinions I value that he is one very nice bloke. Mantra was not well drawn in the one box (he likes to be wide at the start) but his run was pretty bloody ordinary. I almost had a silly little bet on Bo Frazier when he was showing $31 but I thought "no, he is not at all well drawn in 8 and although I like him as a dog, he does not have anywhere near the ability of Mantra Lad. I will just watch". Good luck to David Geall, I don't know him but I did have a chat to him when he and Bo Frazier visited our local track last year. David seemed like a really nice guy and obviously loves this dog who he described to me as a "tenacious chaser". David was clearly and understandably emotional tonight, a huge thrill. Do you know what, I reckon Bo Frazier could produce some good pups. I think I have expressed this view before on this site. And what about El Galo, he is master of the Victorian scene and some others when he ventures away and Miss Elly Mint's territory is NSW. He is such a consistent box dog with great early speed. Fedex of course was great and Queen Lauryn's run was what you expect from such a great bitch but she just does not have the box ability and early speed of El Galo. Heaven only knows what will happen when Jason Thompson fronts the inquiry next Tuesday. Bad luck to the Salegreys Iscool connections, not her night.
