Made to size
Just in case anyone who is interested is not aware of the following:
12 Dec, 2008.
ALBION Park track record holder Made To Size will have his broken hock operated on today.
Trainer Reg Kay said this of the son of Surf Lorian-Queen Size who smashed his hock in running in last night's Group 1 Brisbane Cup final.
"Richard (Eaton-Wells) is overseas at the moment, but he has one of the best surgeons around at the clinic," said Kay.
"He will operate on him today."
Kay said he and partner Julie Edmnondson, who bred and part-owns Made To Size, had been inundated with phone calls this morning about the dog's condition.
"One of the first people to ring was (chief steward) Danny Ryan and we both appreciated that very much," said Kay.
Made To Size will be given time to recover from his operation and will start his full-time stud career when that recovery is complete.
"We will stands him at stud with us," said Kay.
"He's Julie's pet so there's no chance he would be going anywhere."
Made To Size, winner of the Group 1 Winter Carnival Cup, twice broke the Albion Park track record during 2008.
He ran 29.61 on February 21 and last week in his Brisbane Cup heat victory he lowered that to 29.57.
He also ran the third fastest 520m of the year with a 29.68 in May.
He will go to stud with a record of 46 starts for 21 wins, 12 seconds and six thirds.
At Albion Park he started 17 times for 11 wins and four placings.
